French Beef and Beer Stew (France)
A classic French dish with deep, rich flavors.
Ingredients:
2 lbs beef chuck, cubed
2 tbsp olive oil
2 large onions, sliced
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp tomato paste
2 cups dark beer
1 cup beef broth
2 tbsp flour
2 bay leaves
1 tsp dried thyme
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Heat olive oil in a large pot and brown the beef.
Remove beef and sauté onions and garlic until soft.
Stir in tomato paste and flour.
Return beef to the pot and pour in beer and beef broth.
Add bay leaves, thyme, salt, and pepper.
Cover and simmer for 2-3 hours until beef is tender.
Serve with mashed potatoes or crusty bread.
