Japanese Katsu Steak (Japan)

Ingredients:

  • 4 beef cutlets

  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Vegetable oil for frying

  • Tonkatsu sauce for serving

Instructions:

  • Pound beef cutlets to ¼-inch thickness.

  • Season with salt and pepper.

  • Dredge in flour, dip in beaten eggs, and coat with panko breadcrumbs.

  • Heat oil in a skillet to 350°F (177°C).

  • Fry cutlets for 3-4 minutes per side until crispy.

  • Drain on paper towels and serve with tonkatsu sauce.
