1. Spanakopita (Greece)

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (450g) fresh spinach, chopped

  • 1 cup feta cheese, crumbled

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 egg, beaten

  • 1 package phyllo dough

  • ½ cup melted butter

Instructions:

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

  • Sauté onion in olive oil until soft, then add spinach and cook until wilted.

  • Remove from heat and mix in feta cheese and beaten egg.

  • Cut phyllo dough into strips, brush with melted butter, and place a spoonful of filling at one end.

  • Fold into triangles and bake for 20 minutes until golden brown.
